Dooq is a planet that first appears in Issue 25 of the Invader Zim comic series.

Summary[]

Dooq is a planet that appears to be solely desert in nature. While a native race is mentioned by the Irkens, they never appeared, though a species of large lizard creatures are also native to the planet. At some point in the past, while Zim was still in training to become an Invader, he was part of a military force sent to Dooq to conquer it and take control of its comfortable self-growing couches.

He was ordered by his commanding officer Commander Poki to set off an explosion with some minibombs in order to distract the native soldiers so his fellow Irkens could attack them. Instead, he set off much larger gigabombs, causing an explosion that not only wiped out the natives but also the Irkens, with Zim himself and Poki being the only apparent survivors.

Years later, Zim was brought back to Dooq by his obsessive fan Fitzoo-Menga, who was seeking an Irken neurothing left behind on the planet in order to use it to remove Zim's PAK and replace it with one containing his own mind, thereby stealing Zim's body. He succeeded, only for Zim's PAK to attach to his chair and use it to fight back. This ended with Zim regaining his body and returning to Earth, leaving Fitzoo-Menga permanently attached to one of the couches.

Facts of Doom[]

  • Dooq somewhat resembles Hobo 13 since both are desert worlds, have yellow skies, and presumably teeming with dangerous creatures. The only difference is that Dooq seems to be devoid of intelligent life.
  • Since no Irkens are seen on Dooq in the present, presumably they never tried to conquer the planet again after their first attempt failed or it is conquered and Irkens only collect the couches from time to time.
  • It's unknown if any of the natives of Dooq are still alive in the present, or if Zim's actions rendered them extinct.
  • The self-growing couches of Dooq are described as the "most reliable source of comfort in the galaxy".
  • Fitzoo-Menga is now stuck permanently living there as a "living couch" probably a literal "couch potato".
