Several Funko Pop figures have been produced for the Invader Zim series, many of which were released as Hot Topic exclusives or given special variants only sold at the store chain.
Three different designs of GIR were released, the first being GIR wearing his dog suit which was released in fall 2015 as the 12th figure in the "Funko Pop TV" line; this design received two additional releases, a glow in the dark variant exclusive to Hot Topic, and a miniature version attached to a key chain. Two additional GIR designs were released in 2016: GIR with his hood flipped down and his robot face exposed was released in the summer, while an alternate version of GIR with his costume fully on and holding the cupcake from "Walk of Doom" was released in the fall. Both were given a Hot Topic exclusive pre-release before being made widely available.
The first Funko Pop to feature Zim was released in spring 2018 as the 41st figure in the "Funko Pop Rides" collection and was sold exclusively at Hot Topic. This figure re-created the famous ending scene from "Attack of the Saucer Morons" where Zim and GIR are riding the pig-shaped Voot Carrier and featured Zim scowling as he drove the carrier, while GIR was cheerfully holding his antennae and enjoying the ride.
Zim himself would finally get a more standard release in fall 2019. This figure recreated a well known piece of promotional art where Zim is holding a globe of the Earth while GIR mimicked his pose holding a small pig (as an included mini-pop), however the figure deviated from the illustration by giving Zim a similar scowl to the previous release of him, rather than the open mouth smile in the original drawing, while GIR's mouth was open instead of closed. This figure was an exclusive to Hot Topic and one of several figures where the release date was kept vague, only giving the time frame of Fall 2019. One figure was to be released each week, but which one would be kept as a surprise until the shipment arrived; Zim and GIR arrived in early November and were among the last to release.
Another Zim was released in summer 2020, intended to be an exclusive for San Diego Comic Con that year. However, the in-person event was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic that year, resulting in all of the stock being sold online through a partner shop. The figure itself featured Zim smiling and winking as he held Mini Moose and is currently the only release not to include GIR, as well as the only one not to be sold at Hot Topic.
