Invader Jim is an Irken Invader who was sent to an unknown planet to conquer. He is one of the few Irkens with a human name.

He was first mentioned in Issue 2 of the Invader Zim comic series, where he was mentioned by Tallest Red, while Purple confused him for Invader Zim due to the similarity in names.

He was later mentioned in a similar scene in the movie Invader Zim: Enter the Florpus, where the Tallest show that they have a high opinion of him as he sends them doughnuts, which is implied to be a frequent thing since Purple says "He's great." Unlike the comics, here it's Red who confuses him with Zim.

Facts of Doom

• Both in the comics and the movie he was mistaken for Zim by the Tallest, due to them forgetting about Zim (as a result of his long absence) and thinking of Jim because of the similarity in names.
• He originally didn't seem to be a part of Operation Impending Doom II as he is not seen on the list of Irken Invaders, however it's possible that Jhonen Vasquez just created him for the sake of the joke in the comics, later making him a canon character for the movie.
• It is hinted that the planet he was assigned to has been conquered and made into a doughnut shop world because of how frequently he sends the Tallest doughnuts.
• In Japanese, Zim's name is pronounced as Jim, as the language technically lacks a "zi" sound, thus, there's no difference between Zim and Jim's names when spoken. Because of this, in the Japanese dub of Enter the Florpus, Purple has to actually spell their names out to Red to specify who he's referring to.
