Okay, we get it, you don't like ZAGR, and I can respect that. However, this site's articles aren't for personal opinions, just facts. And the fact is that shipping (yes, including ZAGR) is a major part of the Invader Zim fandom, and the articles about shipping exist to provide canonical evidence for those ships in a neutral way. Therefore, please do not put your own views about those ships on the articles.
I dunno... I know that this wiki doesnt endorse any specific ship, but don't you think that it's kind of weird that they're there anyways? I think that unless a relationship is canon, it shouldn't really be on *this* wiki in the first place. That's for fanon and shipping wikis to collect info on, and we're not either of those.
Also, IMO it's kind of gross that there are pages on relationships between ~12 year old children and grown adults (or those equivalent, confirmed or otherwise) specifically focused on romance.
Well, strictly speaking, they're not shipping articles (that was a poor word choice on my part above), they're articles about the interpersonal relationships between characters that just happen to mention if/how fans ship the characters in question. For the most part, they just mention how the characters interact, with little to no mention of romance.
I mean, the article titles themselves follow the way fans refer to ships (ZADR, TAGR, ZAGR, etc) but in expanded format, they're basically shipping articles.
You should look at this from the perspective of other people who might just visit this wiki for fun- do these articles present themselves in a way that random people would think they're shipping things or no? I don't think a lot of people would look at a recap of every little thing a character has done re: another character unless it's for a ship, especially in the context of a fandom or wiki like this.
There's also articles about Professor Membrane's relationships with both of his kids. Do those read as shipping to you? For that matter, does the one about Zim's relationship with the Tallest? The term "relationship" doesn't automatically mean romance.
I can't stop people's reasonings for why they'd visit these articles, I can only point out that 95% of the content on them has nothing to do with shipping.
Also, WolfDragonGirl12, would you care to comment? As this is being discussed on your message wall, I'd like to hear your thoughts.
You do realize people ship both those things, right? That there are such reprehensible human beings on this planet?
Read a book, literally get your brain out of the "its not shipping" mindset for five seconds and listen to your arguments. They're shipping articles. People look at them as shipping articles. They smell like shipping, they taste like shipping, must be shipping.
Does it really matter if 95% of it doesn't appear to have a bias to youspecifically? That's a horribly egocentric way of thinking. You should be concerned with the public opinion on these articles, and what they do for this community, ESPECIALLY AS AN ADMIN.
Yes, I'm aware there are sickos who ship those pairings. I'm aware that there are people who ship literally every single character in Invader Zim with every other character. That does not change the fact that the content of the vast majority of these articles don't even contain the words "pairing", "shipping", "romance", or anything else of a non-plantonic nature. Anyone who takes a minute to read more than the articles' titles will realize it.
Again, I cannot control what people think of these character interactions, or if they view the content of these articles as support for their shipping preferences. But the existence of these pages helps to flesh out a reader's understanding of the IZ characters, and thus are a part of the fandom experience.
