The Mysterious Mysteries anchor is a struggling TV show host for Mysterious Mysteries of Strange Mystery. In addition to his continuous struggle to come up with decent material for his show.
The Anchor has also had to deal with a particularly obsessive fan named Dib on at least two occasions - the first encounter (the specifics of which are unknown) apparently left the Anchor with a scar on his face, and fleeting flashbacks showing a smiling Dib whenever he thinks back to the events of the encounter, while the second nearly caused him to go insane.
For better or for worse, however, the events of the latter broadcast actually caused him to keep his job because "crazy gets good ratings", according to his producer.
Appearance
The anchor is a bald, dark-skinned man with a trimmed, grey beard, and a deep, dramatic voice. He wears spectacles and a grey jacket over a black turtleneck.
Jhonen Vasquez's character art for the Anchor resembled the portraying voice actor, John Garry.
Facts of Doom
- Even though the Mysterious Mysteries anchor's first on-screen appearance was in "Mysterious Mysteries" his voice was first heard in "NanoZIM".
- He is likely based on the former Unsolved Mysteries host, Robert Stack.
- In the Spanish dub, he was voiced by Humberto Solórzano. In "Gaz, Taster of Pork", however, he was voiced by Jorge Santos.
- The Anchor was meant to make another appearance in the episode "Day of Da Spookies!" but the show was cancelled before it could be animated.
