Invader ZIM Wiki

Zim Choabs Foo was a proposed idea for an episode of Invader Zim which never made it past the concept stage, the existence of which was only revealed in Eric Trueheart's book The Medium-Sized Book of Zim Scripts: Vol 1: Pigs 'n' Waffles.

Summary[]

One day, Zim comes to Skool and finds that someone is using a laser to place the words "Zim Choabs Foo" on the back of his head. Despite the fact that no one even knows what this phrase means, the other skoolchildren begin to bully and mock him for it.

Zim starts tracking down the source of the laser, following it through space as it's bounced around through hyperspace to reach him, and finally arrives at a space station. There he finds the alien responsible for this situation and demands to know who he is and why he's been doing this. To his surprise, the alien admits he was only doing this for fun, and even he doesn't know what "choabs foo" means. Zim then demands that the alien stop, but as he leaves the station the alien broadcasts the words again, so Zim blows him up.

As Zim returns to Earth, the camera zooms out to show that some cosmic power has rearranged the galaxies to spell out "Zim Moops Bloogies".

Facts of Doom[]

  • In his book, Trueheart notes that he only thought through the plot for this episode up to the point where Zim confronts the alien on his space station. The final portion, with Zim blowing up the station and the alignment of the galaxies, was only added to the idea for the book.
  • Trueheart's original idea was for the alien to turn out to be someone Zim wronged in the past and then forgot about. Jhonen Vasquez was the one to suggest he was targeting Zim at random.
  • Trueheart appears to be proud of the parable about bullying that this episode contained.
  • The title of Floopsy Bloops Shmoopsy, the show that Zim and GIR become obsessed with in Issue 20, may have been a sly reference to the "Zim Moops Bloogies" message from the end of this episode.
